Training for the Field (Bird Dog) Trial Horse

When our friend Rick Steed started getting in Gaited Horses to train for Bird Dog trials, Charlotte thought it might be a bit of a stretch for a reined cowhorse trainer but it has proven to be a perfect fit. Rick invited her to her first Bird Dog Trial and she was hooked! The lovely gaited horses they use have great minds and take quickly to our simple training approach. Natural Horsemanship concepts presented to the horse in simple equations reap fast tremendous rewards! Even the older, set-in-his-ways horse can be rehabilitated into a reliable partner!

Starting a Brace

Our simple ideas are super easy for the owners to master as well! Many problems occur after horses leave the trainer, our simple ideas can be grasped in a matter of hours and mastered quite quickly. We can truly partner a horse a rider so the rider is free to focus on bigger things - his dog!

Rates for Field Trail and Foxhunting horses are a bit higher because we spend more time each day on these horses riding them both inside and outside the arena. We also include hauling them to parks to work them in 'the field'. We will also do our best to attend a field trial with you to help you adapt to your new partner.
