Aaron Ralston
Born and raised on my family’s ranch in Western
Colorado, I was taught the importance of being a helpful cowhand. This
mentality has stayed with me throughout my early career as I rodeoed and now
as I participate in show reining and working cow horses. Through my work
with cow horses I am finding a strong desire to return to my ranching roots
before the lifestyle fades away as I knew it. No matter what we do, times
will change and my goal is to help them change in a way that will preserve
the working ranch cowboy.
Horses have given me the opportunity to compete all over the world. In 2006,
I was fortunate to be a part of Team USA at the World Equestrian Games, held
in Aachen, Germany. Riding
Smart Paul Olena, we
led the Team to a Team Gold Medal and took the Bronze medal in the
Individual Reining Competition. The spectator’s enthusiasm for the sport of
Reining was incredible and I feel very privileged that I participated in
such a history making event.
Aaron found our program to be a unique one
combining the best of many disciplines. He teaches us how to motivate our horses
by giving us a solid purpose for each thing we ask. When you horse firming
understands the reason you are asking him to perform a manuever, etc, he will
offer more enthusiam and energy within that manuever. Aaron 's creativity will
spark interest in the dullest horses and riders.
Aaron hosts a weekly TV show called 'The
Ride' on RFD TV. Check him out there, then come ride with us!

Craig Johnson

A professional trainer for 30 years, Craig
grew up in the horse business. His parents, Burdette and Ellyn
Johnson, raised horses at their Iowa home and from an early age
Craig knew he wanted to train horses professionally. He worked for
other trainers for a time, learning the ropes and then went into
business for himself. Although he started his career showing
everything from halter to performance horses, he soon specialized in
Reining. His occasional forays into the Working Cow Horse world have
netted him NRCHA Futurity finalist finishes and an APHA Working Cow
Horse World Championship. By 1980 he entered his first NRHA Futurity
and the next year he qualified two horses for the finals. He has
only missed making the NRHA Futurity finals twice in two decades,
since putting his life time earnings well over $1,000,000! Through
the years, Craig's talent and experience as a clinician, coach,
horse developer and trainer remain in constant high demand. Craig's
contribution to Reining and Horsemanship have been captured in his
successful home study video for reining hopefuls, Basics of Reining.
Craig's passion to position the concepts of Reining as a set of
principles, that will make all performance and riding disciplines
more highly developed, is the impetus behind his plans for the
International School of Reining, "School of Rein".
Craig Johnson's special brand of reining
excellence combines total precision with lightning maneuvers. His is a
unique style that has been well rewarded in the arena.
Two NRHA Futurity Championships, a NRHA Derby
title, two Superstakes wins, along with eight AQHA World Championships and
six APHA World Titles are just some of the well-deserved laurels Johnson
has earned.
Craig has also represented the United States in
Jerez, Spain at the World Equestrian Games. The U.S. came home with the
Gold Medals! Craig has been on three Gold Medal teams, brought home three
individual Silver Medals and one Bronze Medal.
Basics of Reining Clinics
Whether you are a beginning horseman, avid
rider, competitive sportsman or trainer, this course will improve
both you and your horse's riding relationship. Taking "reining"
from an event to a set of principles, Craig Johnson reveals how
horses become more willingly guided with little or no resistance.
Through understanding the psychology of the horse and the benefits
of "good confusion", you will learn how to encourage your horse to
stay focused and thinking during a riding session. No matter your
riding discipline and interests, applying the principles and
concepts of "reining" will improve both you and your horse's
performance and relationship. So join us ...and "Let it Rein"!

More Information about Clinics at Fox Point
Farm:
We truly believe in the power of a
'family' team group. At Fox Point Farm we have always supported each other,
encouraged each other, congratulated and enjoyed each others
victories. We have seen other groups destroy one another especially in
competitive situations. My goal for these clinics is to get Tommy and I
together teaching to give you the BEST support and competitive advice and
instruction available today! We want to bring all our students together as a
team family, empower them, then send them out to represent all of us in
competition. We want you to not only to be well prepared and schooled in
your events but also we want you to FEEL the love and support we give to our
'family'! I see lots of capable trainers out there with effective teaching
and training tools; what I don't see is the most important part - HEART,
DESIRE, LOVE and RESPECT for both the horses and their people. Maybe this is
too 'soft' for you - that's ok, maybe you aren't for Fox Point Farm? But
maybe you have seen or lived what I am talking about and understand there is
a huge difference here. We send riders to all sorts of competitions, the
thing they always take with them is the support from our entire Family - we
all cheer when you win, we all console you when winning will be another day.
When you go out to show
we will say "May the Force be with you", and you will show with all our
support whether we are there watching or we are waiting by the phone! At Fox
Point Farm we are a Family, here to enable You to realize your Dreams!

Charlotte has had the great honor and
opportunity to work with some of the greatest horsemen of our time. They have
recognized her drive to keep learning and have taken their time and energy to
help her along her journey. Pat Parelli is one of her most profound mentors.
These photos were taken in Perry, GA where Pat asked her to come and ride.
Charlotte is deeply grateful to all the amazing horsemen who have taken their
time to help her. A clinic with Charlotte will bring you knowledge much bigger
than she - her teaching comes from all those who have helped her.

Charlotte Cannon offers a variety of exciting Horsemanship Clinics at her
farm or yours. Most clinics are a combination of groundwork and riding, but
we can tailor a special day for your specific needs with any combination of
topics you wish. We do half-day, full day and multiple day formats. In
addition we can provide you an impressive demo team if your clientele would
like to see our finished work in action.
Since Charlotte teaches both children and adults, you can schedule a fun and
unique day for all ages. We are interested in offering some kids clinics this
year to spark young imaginations with natural horsemanship, as well as offering
more horseshow clinics with natural approaches to competitive issues.
Charlotte's style and enthusiasm is contagious to all around her, and the most
basic foundation clinics have huge amounts information applicable to all levels
of horsemanship. Auditors always have a fantastic time with Charlotte's colorful
delivery of educational stories and truly visible changes - auditors are some of
the first asking when she will return so they too can participate.
